Online and Mail-Order Medicine: How to Buy Safely

Today the prices of some drugs have risen to extraordinary heights, and it’s much cheaper to order it from over the internet than to go down to your local pharmacy store and buy it over the counter. But why is that? Well most drugs that are sold in the UK have to adhere to the market of the EU. Most companies that produce drugs outside of the EU follow different rules and their prices are regulated by the state where they are produced.

For instance, the same type of drug that you buy in Britain for 100 pounds can be purchased in Germany with a different manufacturer for just 10 euro. For everyone that needs to spend 100 bucks a week or on a monthly basis on certain drugs that would be a top-notch bargain if they could order them online from Germany directly. However, sometimes it’s not such a smart idea to order over the internet as some trade offs are bound to happen.

For instance, some drugs can be manufactured in China, and they won’t do what they describe that they would do, so how can you safely buy online?

There are several things to keep in mind:

  1. Inform yourself when you see an excellent bargain

There are lots of drugs produced around the world for a fraction of the price that you pay in your hometown. Some deals are legitimate, and some are outright scams. Inform yourself before you make a purchase not to get something that might do you more harm than good.

The usual suspect too low prices are drugs that are produced by a company that does not have to play the high-cost game of the price gouging of the pharmacy industry in a particular country, but it never hurts to double check.

  1. Check the sites for the VIPPS seals

The VIPPS stands for “Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites” and all sites that operate with drugs online that are verified have this seal on their website. If you don’t see this seal proceed with caution.

  1. Make sure you can talk with a pharmacist

Many of these sites don’t even have a pharmacist working for them, and they want to sell drugs and offer information to the public. If they don’t have a pharmacist under them than all the information they got is on the wiki. Just browse on another site it’s not a big issue.

  1. Check the privacy policy

The most important thing when shopping online is to keep your private information to yourself. The more you are required to share online the more vulnerabilities you create for yourself in the future. To prevent any situations where you might not want just to play it safe and keep your personal info hidden.
